Industrial Fasteners Market to Reach USD 146.83 Billion by 2034, Driven by Automotive, Construction and Aerospace Demand

Polaris Market Research projects a 4.40% CAGR between 2026 and 2034 as demand grows for high-performance fastening solutions across key industries.

According to Polaris Market Research, the global industrial fasteners market was valued at USD 101.83 billion in 2025 and is projected to increase to USD 106.25 billion in 2026, reaching USD 146.83 billion by 2034 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.40% during the forecast period from 2026 to 2034.

The report identifies several factors contributing to market expansion across multiple end-use industries.

Automotive Industry Driving Product Innovation

The automotive industry continues to increase demand for lightweight and vibration-resistant fastening systems. Passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and electric vehicles require application-specific components designed to withstand thermal cycling, vibration and stringent safety requirements. This has encouraged the adoption of custom-engineered studs, anchors and panel fasteners that support vehicle weight reduction while maintaining structural performance.

Construction Activity Supports Market Expansion

Infrastructure development across emerging economies, particularly China and India, remains a major contributor to market demand. The increasing adoption of modular and prefabricated construction methods has further strengthened the requirement for precision fasteners that facilitate efficient assembly and disassembly.

The report notes that U.S. construction spending exceeded USD 2.1 trillion in April 2024, representing a 10% year-on-year increase, highlighting continued investment in construction projects.

Aerospace Segment Expected to Record Fastest Growth

The aerospace sector is projected to be the fastest-growing end-use segment through 2034. Aircraft manufacturers continue to adopt lightweight materials, creating demand for composite-compatible polymers and high-strength superalloy fasteners capable of operating under extreme mechanical and thermal conditions.

The report also highlights ongoing work by NASA involving re-engineered plastic fasteners for spacecraft and observatory applications.

Healthcare Creates Additional Demand

Medical equipment manufacturers are increasingly using threaded inserts, blind rivets and self-locking fastening systems in products including surgical lasers, MRI scanners, pacemakers and stethoscopes. These components are designed to withstand repeated sterilisation while maintaining performance.

Market Segmentation

Nuts and Bolts Remain Largest Product Category

By product type, nuts and bolts accounted for the largest market share in 2025 due to their widespread use across automotive, aerospace, construction, machinery and medical device manufacturing.

The report cites Germany's 5G rollout, which reached 98.1% completion in the 2023 assessment, as an example of continued infrastructure demand supported by standard threaded fasteners.

Metal Fasteners Continue to Dominate

Metal fasteners remain the leading material segment because of their durability, corrosion resistance and heat tolerance. Stainless steel continues to be widely used owing to its recyclability and cost-performance balance.

At the same time, developments in anti-corrosion alloys, ultra-lightweight materials and superconducting materials are creating additional opportunities in automotive and infrastructure projects. Plastic fasteners are also expanding into low-load, weight-sensitive and UV-exposed applications, particularly within aerospace.

Regional Outlook

Asia Pacific accounted for the largest share of global revenue in 2025, supported by automotive manufacturing growth in China, Japan and India. China's infrastructure investment and automotive production, together with India's "Make in India" initiative and foreign direct investment policies, continue to support regional demand.

Europe represented the second-largest regional market, led by its established automotive manufacturing sector. The report notes that Germany accounts for nearly 29% of Europe's automotive market, supported by manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Volkswagen and Ferrari.

Competitive Landscape

The market remains fragmented, with companies including Acument Global Technologies, Illinois Tool Works, Hilti Corporation, Stanley Black & Decker, NORMA Group, Penn Engineering & Manufacturing Corp., and Birmingham Fastener and Supply serving different application segments.

Among recent developments, the report highlights that Gabriel India entered the fastener industry in July 2025 through a joint venture with South Korea's JINHAP, investing approximately USD 3.2 million for a 51% stake. The venture targets USD 24 million in revenue by 2030 while supporting OEM localisation objectives.

Industry Challenges

The report identifies fluctuating steel and specialty alloy prices as an ongoing challenge affecting industry margins. It also notes that global sourcing increases the risk of counterfeit and non-compliant products, making supplier qualification, documentation and traceability increasingly important, particularly in regulated sectors such as aerospace and healthcare.

Market Outlook

According to the report, manufacturers, suppliers and buyers are placing greater emphasis on traceability, performance under demanding operating conditions and compatibility with lightweight, multi-material assemblies. The industrial fasteners market is expected to add nearly USD 45 billion in value between 2026 and 2034, reflecting continued demand across global manufacturing industries.
