Moscow Fashion Week is being held from March 14 to 19, bringing together emerging designers from multiple countries. The event includes collections that reflect cross-cultural influences, including designs inspired by Indian textiles and craftsmanship.

The Spanish brand Madame & Mister Sibarita presented a collection combining Mediterranean and Indian influences. Founder and designer Patricia Emma Fernandez Ortiz previously spent twelve years in Kolkata, where the brand’s production operations are based. This experience is reflected in the collection shown at the event.

The collection includes architectural corsets, voluminous sleeves, and loose-cut kaftans made using Indian cotton, along with hand embroidery by artisans. Materials used in the designs include gold embroidery, sequins, silk, and organza.

“Participating in Moscow Fashion Week feels like a very special step for the brand. Madame & Mister Sibarita was born precisely from the cultural fusion between East and West: a dialogue between the rich craftsmanship and textiles of India and the contemporary aesthetics of Western fashion. Our identity is built on this meeting of cultures, where tradition and modernity coexist. Russia also has a very rich cultural history bridging East and West, along with a strong sensitivity to art, luxury, and beauty,” said Patricia Emma Fernandez Ortiz.

Other collections at the event also reflect cultural themes. The Big Brooch collection draws on influences from Buryatia’s Buddhist philosophy and the Ivolginsky Datsan temple complex, incorporating design elements such as motifs inspired by “golden fish,” shell-shaped accessories, and symbolic embroidery.

The Russian brand Oleg Levitskiy presented a collection combining avant-garde design with references to Russian folklore, using recycled fabrics. Another label, Za_Za, previously featured at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI, showcased designs that combine fluid forms with geometric structures.

In addition to runway presentations, the event includes industry talks, a Pop-Up Store, and a Showroom. The platform continues to facilitate engagement among designers, industry professionals, and international markets.
