India Exports Textiles from 550 Districts, Says Union Minister Giriraj Singh

Minister highlights export diversification strategy, Bharat Tex 2026 participation and ongoing FTA negotiations during the event in New Delhi.

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh said India is exporting textile products from 550 districts, stating that the government's export diversification strategy has contributed to the sector's continued export growth despite global challenges.

Addressing the media during Bharat Tex 2026 in New Delhi on Tuesday, Singh said the strategy has enabled the textile sector to maintain resilience amid international uncertainties.

“India’s strategy to target 40 key nations for export diversification helped the textiles sector register sustained export growth despite global uncertainty,” he explained.

Singh also described Bharat Tex as India's largest global textile event, stating that it provides opportunities for small entrepreneurs to access export markets.

“Even small-scale entrepreneurs who may not have ever even thought of exporting are present here today. I am expecting that this time we will break all records in terms of the number of exporters and buyers visiting,” he said.

Referring to international participation at the event, Singh said buyers from 130 countries had come to India.

“We are in the process of negotiating FTAs with various nations,” he further said.
