INDA Appoints Ben Muller as Executive Director Amid Global Nonwovens Alliance Expansion
New executive director brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across nonprofits, corporations and trade associations
INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, has appointed Ben Muller as its executive director. Muller brings more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience across nonprofit organisations, corporations and trade associations.
Muller most recently served on the senior executive team of the High Point Market Authority, where he led marketing, public relations and educational programming for one of the world’s largest trade shows. Earlier in his career, he held senior brand and marketing leadership roles with Hanesbrands and Kayser-Roth, gaining experience across textile and apparel supply chains. He also began his career with mission-driven organisations including the American Cancer Society and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Leadership Transition at INDA
INDA’s current president and CEO, Tony Fragnito, will move into an executive consultant role in January 2027. In this position, he will support the leadership transition while focusing on projects and initiatives intended to expand the reach and participation of the Global Nonwovens Alliance (GNA).
Fragnito’s planned retirement is scheduled for December 2027.
The executive director position has been created following the formation of the GNA by INDA and EDANA. According to INDA, the appointment represents the next stage in the evolution of its staff leadership structure.
Muller will lead INDA’s strategic initiatives, oversee operations and represent the interests of the nonwovens industry across the Americas. His leadership experience, marketing background and understanding of member and industry engagement are expected to support these responsibilities.

Board and GNA Welcome New Executive Director
Mark A. Thornton, chair of the INDA Board of Directors and vice president, Baby Care, Fem Care and Family Care Quality Assurance, The Procter & Gamble Company, recognised Fragnito’s leadership during the association’s transition period.
“Tony has provided outstanding leadership to INDA during a transformational period for both the association and the global nonwovens industry,” said Mark A. Thornton, chair of the INDA Board of Directors and vice president, Baby Care, Fem Care and Family Care Quality Assurance, The Procter & Gamble Company. “The Board is deeply appreciative of his leadership, commitment to our members and role in helping establish the Global Nonwovens Alliance. As we look ahead, we are confident Ben brings the strategic thinking, industry experience and collaborative leadership needed to build on that strong foundation and guide INDA into its next chapter.”
Murat Dogru, CEO, GNA, said Muller’s appointment would support the development of the Global Nonwovens Alliance.

Fragnito said he would work with Muller during the transition to support the continuity of INDA’s operations and member relationships.
