INDA & EDANA Propose Global Alliance to Unite Nonwovens Sector

INDA and EDANA, two leading trade associations for the nonwovens industry, have advanced their joint efforts to foster global cooperation with a new recommendation to establish the Global Nonwovens Alliance (GNA). This proposed federation, envisioned as a separate tax-exempt entity, will be founded by both INDA and EDANA to provide unified international representation and strategic leadership for the global nonwovens industry.

The idea for a more collaborative structure stems from the Letter of Intent signed in September 2024, in which both organizations outlined a shared commitment to industry-wide alignment. Building on that vision, the formation of GNA aims to address global opportunities and challenges more efficiently by aligning programs, resources, and expertise.

While INDA and EDANA will retain their independent legal identities and regional focus, they will also actively contribute to GNA through joint leadership, staffing, and program collaboration. This new global body will serve as a platform to enhance operational efficiency, extend service value, and support innovation across borders—ultimately creating a more resilient and growth-oriented industry landscape.

GNA will strive to deliver locally impactful yet globally coordinated solutions, strengthening advocacy, research, and technological development. Both Boards are still finalizing certain operational details and approval timelines but have publicly expressed strong endorsement for the federation’s mission and long-term value.
