Bringing WCRC 2024 to You: Special Issue on Cotton Science and Sustainability

Published: March 31, 2025

The World Cotton Research Conference, held every four years, is the premier event for cotton scientists all over the world. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to attend a WCRC event, which was most recently held in October 2024 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan — so the March 2025 ICAC Recorder is bringing all of that knowledge to everyone, free of charge.

In addition to the editorial from ICAC Chief Scientist and Editor of The Recorder, Dr Keshav Kranthi, there are articles based on Plenary presentations from 10 of the most renowned cotton researchers in the world.

“It is a pleasure and an honor to be able to provide so much cutting-edge research to scientists across the globe through this Special Issue of The ICAC Recorder,” Dr Kranthi said. “Although not everyone is able to attend WCRC conferences in person, the ability to disseminate the findings from that event to researchers around the world — at no cost to them — is a crucial step in ensuring cotton is able to adapt to meet future challenges. This issue brings together diverse perspectives, from cutting-edge genetics to innovative farming practices, automation, and traceability, all converging on a central theme: redefining sustainability in a rapidly evolving world.”
