The Japanese textile brand ECOSENSOR™ by Asahi Kasei Advance presents its AW 2024/2025 & SS2025 collections at Performance Days, the sustainable sourcing fair for functional fabrics & accessories. ECOSENSOR™ presents 65 new references that boast exceptional performance, catering to the functional requirements of high-intensity sports and “urban challenges”. An offer that is also looking at contemporary consumer needs in terms of “unlocking special values” thanks to a strong sourcing choice based on recycled and certified materials. It is key for ECOSENSOR™ to transform the “waste criticality” into a new fabric range able to combine active climate control with exquisite touch, lightness, comfort with dyeing and finishing by the dyehouse which is always guaranteed by Oekotex Standard 100 or/and bluesign®. ECOSENSOR™ stands out as a unique eco-high-tech performance proposition covering different market applications with 40 items for SPORT WOVENS, 17 for SPORT KNIT, 5 for INNERWEAR and 3 for OUTERWEAR.

SPORT WOVENS:
In this area we find interesting new proposals using a very unique membrane such as RespiGard™ by Polypore. ECOSENSOR™ introduced for the first time last season, and is back today with a wider and even more special offer that touch an important part of the new collection. Why? Its innovative pore structure is too small for water droplets to penetrate but features high porosity that allows for airflow and moisture evaporation. A proprietary and patented products and manufacturing process provide a membrane that:
• Is naturally hydrophobic (repels water)
• Has smooth and uniform pores too small for water droplets to
penetrate
• Features high porosity that allows for airflow and moisture
evaporation
• Is naturally lightweight due to its high porosity.
• Is produced using a solvent-free manufacturing process with a low
carbon footprint. The polypropylene-based membrane is recyclable and perfluorocarbon (PFC) free. In addition, we see light weight double weave fabric – ESS1-A8270-MDWR – Thanks to double weave construction, this item have dry touch from back side and using the yarn texturing technology, ECOSENSOR ™ can offer a stretch performance without the use of elastane. Let’s continue with the the dry feel and touch for a 2.5 layer waterproof fabric: ESS1-04289-R2.5L-WKZ

SPORT KNIT:
This season ECOSENSOR™ developed some new and special quarter gauge Absolute novelty is also quality ESS2-31440-2 knitted on double raschel knittingmachine. Thanks to the knitting machine, dyeing process, and finishing techniques utilized, the back side of the fabric boasts a fascinating brushed texture and appearance, even if no specific brushing treatment has been applied. This would help to reduce microshedding.

INNERWEAR:
ESL1-06740 is made by special recycled polyester which can achieve quick dry thanks to“W” yarn shape. Almost 99% of the collection is composed of certified fibers and 100% of the stretch articles (representing 20% of the collection) are made with ROICA™ EF by Asahi Kasei, the recycled stretch yarn made from pre-consumer materials. Furthermore, almost 97% of the whole collection is made with recycled high tech fibres (recycled polyammide 66.54%, recycled polyester 28.95%, ROICA™ EF 3.25%); the remaining 3.08% is made with Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei, the unique fiber with a circular economy footprint obtained from cotton linters through a closed-loop process ensuring certified sustainability credentials through its transparent and traceable approach. Bemberg™ recently achieved the OK biodegradable MARINE certification, which guarantees the biodegradability of its products even in the marine environment, as certified by TÜV AUSTRIA. This Bemberg™ certification’s achievement comes on top of other key ones such as the INNOVHUB report that confirms Bemberg™ biodegradability in soil, the RCS by Textile Exchange, and the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and ISO 14001 corporate certifications.
Even the dyeing and finishing phases – key moments for performancewear – have been certified by international labels such as OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (55.38%) or bluesign® (44.62%). Behind the new collection stands an outstanding story of performance and responsibility. “Our global team is yet season by season even more determined to innovate with a responsible approach, in order to develop solutions that meet high-performance standards as well as measuring the impact and sharing the transparency and
traceability of both the ingredients and the supply chain.” affirms Mr. Hashimoto, Senior Managing Director of Asahi Kasei Advance, the global materials innovator and manufacturer. knits(ESS2-13624, ESS2-23367-N, ESS2-13676, ESS2-13677) that offer different looks between front and back thanks to a special knitting machine. And by using low gauge in back side, this kind of fabric can absorb water and dry quickly becoming the perfect substitute of fleece fabric…a new generation one!
