Basel, 15 March 2023 – ClearCorrect®, the Straumann Group’s flagship orthodontic brand and provider of orthodontic products and solutions, has launched an array of new innovations that will be on display at the International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, Germany.

The company has released a total of seven new products and features designed to assist doctors in their treatment of patients – in particular, the innovations will help them to treat a range of cases, from mild to complex, through new aligner customization options, an improved and empowering digital workflow, and increased support and education.

“We are looking forward to presenting in person at IDS,” commented Camila Finzi, EVP and Head of the Orthodontic Business Unit. “Due to the pandemic, it’s been four years since we last attended, and while those years were difficult for everyone, we spent our time enhancing our technologies, our products, and our user experience to enable doctors to improve their practice efficiencies and patient outcomes.”

ClearCorrect® has been part of the Straumann Group since the global dental enterprise acquired it in 2017, consolidating its position as a leader in clear aligner manufacturing and supplier to doctors all around the world.

At IDS, the company will exhibit its latest offerings. These include:

Pontics, bars, and guides

Several features have been developed in order to deliver an enhanced end-to-end workflow that allows doctors to more effectively treat patients who have missing or erupting teeth.

Such features include new, optimized shapes for a more aesthetic appearance and the option to resize features as space increases and decreases for convenience. There is also the flexibility to plan and visualize these features at any step in the process.

IOS integrations

New digital workflows and enhancements have been made to optimize integrations between ClearCorrect® and two IOS platforms.

  • Virtuo Vivo: New updates of the Virtuo Vivo software will allow for a significantly faster scan for ClearCorrect®, increasing overall workflow efficiency.
  • 3Shape Unite: Includes a new embedded retainer case submission and embedded revision submission workflows.

Mobile app

Available on Apple® and Android devices, the ClearCorrect® Sync mobile application enables providers to create new cases, take and edit patient photos, and instantly upload them to the Doctor Portal. Fronted by a simple and intuitive interface, it helps to streamline workflows and provide a more efficient service to customers.

Doctor Portal upgrades: Dynamic Prescription Form

Numerous management enhancements have been made in the Doctor Portal, along with the Dynamic Prescription Form in order to be more intuitive for practitioners. These upgrades include more customization options, guided prescription entry with dynamic display of options based on a range of factors (case complexity, patient dental conditions, doctor preferences), and new drag and drop photo categorization tools for easy optimization of records.

ClearPilot 6.0

A series of upgrades have been made to the ClearPilot treatment viewer software, including a new and more intuitive interface that has been developed in response to doctors’ feedback. Key features of the interface include improved 3D model rendering, an expanded and simplified viewing area, and improved treatment timeline to enable visual cues on steps when appointments are needed.

ClearPilot 6.0 also includes direct collision and space editing with automated adjacent tooth adjustments and point-to-point measurement tools that provide arch and tooth dimension estimates.

Collaborator Suite: new efficiencies

Customers can now order external treatment planning services (TPS) directly from ClearCorrect® global TPS partners, who collaborate with ClearCorrect® technicians to develop optimal treatment setups – this gives doctors the confidence to spend more time with patients as opposed to treatment planning.

Ortho Campus and Clinic App

ClearCorrect® will also be displaying its Ortho Campus education platform at IDS. This comprises a selection of online orthodontic tools and educational resources in eight different languages.

The Ortho Campus portal (Ortho Classroom) has been designed to boost knowledge across orthodontic practices and their employees. It also includes a Case Gallery of real-world examples where patients have been successfully treated with ClearCorrect®.

Also included in Ortho Campus is the ClearCorrect® Clinic App: an in-office patient education tool available in 11 languages. For clinicians and staff who are looking for help with patient conversion, the Clinic App includes patient-friendly talk-tracks on the consequences of various malocclusions, the overall benefits of clear aligners, and aids in starting and guiding conversations with patients about their oral health and how ClearCorrect® can help.
