The city of Hanover, Germany, is gearing up to host the world’s largest textile and garment technology exhibition – ITMA 2027 – from 16 to 22 September 2027 at Messegelände Hannover, marking the event’s return after its last edition there in 1991. The show is set to span 200,000 square meters across 13 exhibition halls.

Secured through a collaborative bid by Deutsche Messe and Hanover’s city authorities, the event is expected to attract a global audience. Mayor Belit Onay expressed excitement over hosting ITMA again, highlighting Hanover’s efficient transport, green spaces, and ideal atmosphere for large-scale events.

Accommodation for All Needs
With a strong history of organizing global exhibitions, Hanover offers over 18,000 hotel beds, complemented by an additional 54,000 in surrounding areas and around 4,000 private accommodations. Convenient transport ensures travel times of 30 to 90 minutes to the venue. A campground opposite the venue adds flexibility for motorhome users, and 700 new rooms will be added by next year.

Accommodation Booking Made Easy
To streamline the process, ITMA Services has appointed bnetwork, a specialist with prior ITMA experience, to manage hotel and apartment bookings. A dedicated website will soon go live for participant bookings, with interim enquiries directed to itmahotels@bnetwork.com.

Despite not being Germany’s largest city, Hanover offers excellent connectivity via high-speed trains and an accessible airport, making it a convenient location for international business travellers. The fairground is well-linked by public transport, and offers 39,000 car parking spaces for added ease.

CEMATEX President Alex Zucchi affirmed that Hanover’s robust infrastructure will ensure a smooth and world-class experience for all exhibitors and visitors.

More details will be available on the upcoming ITMA 2027 website, launching in July, ahead of stand applications opening in September.

The last edition, ITMA 2023 in Milan, saw over 1,700 exhibitors from 47 countries and 111,000+ visitors from 143 nations, highlighting the global significance of the event.
