Tamil Nadu, a cotton-growing state, has three major cotton sowing seasons: Maasipattam, Aadipattam, and Karthigaipattam.According to University sources, sowing for Maasipattam is currently underway, and Aadipattam arrivals are nearing completion. So far, cotton planting in the state has remained normal, and farmers are anticipating good prices.

Last Prices skyrocketed last year. However, cotton demand from the textile industry is low this year. Only about 40% of the textile industry is operational in the Tiruppur-Coimbatoret region, and summer cotton will begin to arrive in the coming weeks. Cotton is in demand for textile exports, but prices are under pressure for the industry. As a result, cotton consumption remains low.
