In preparation for Environment Month, GOLDTOE® Socks, a pioneer in creating contemporary, robust socks for almost a century, is happy to launch its Free Recycling Program in collaboration with TerraCycle®, a global leader in recycling. Through this service, individuals will have a simple way to recycle their used socks from any brand, which will then be used to create new goods. Users will receive points in exchange for their efforts, which they may then donate to the charities, non-profits, or educational institutions of their choice.

According to Emma Budzisz, vice president of marketing at Gildan, “We are happy to work with TerraCycle® to give customers with an innovative yet straightforward option to divert trash from landfills by giving new life to their socks.” “At GOLDTOE®, a division of renowned clothing manufacturer Gildan, we feel that respect should be shown throughout the clothing manufacturing process, including at the conclusion of its useful life.

While frequent in our lives, socks can be challenging to recycle, according to Tom Szaky, CEO and Founder of TerraCycle. By organising their drawers and doing good deeds for the environment and their communities, consumers are encouraged by this initiative from GOLDTOE® to live responsibly without sacrificing convenience.

One of Gildan’s sustainability projects is the collaboration between GOLDTOE® and TerraCycle®. With more than 20 years of industry expertise, the business has operated under the principle that clothing should be produced with consideration for the community, the environment, and all living things. The organisation unveiled a fresh set of objectives for 2022. pledging to make additional strides in a variety of areas, including circularity. Any person, business, or nonprofit organisation that is interested is welcome to participate in GOLDTOEfree ®’s recycling programme. It’s straightforward: send in your worn socks of any brand by mailing them in with the included prepaid shipping label, which can be accessed on the TerraCycle website. As the fabrics are gathered, they are divided into the appropriate categories (polyesters, cottons, etc.) and used, upcycled, or recycled as necessary. Every shipment of socks delivered to TerraCycle® also accrues points that can be exchanged for donations to charitable, educational, or non-profit organisations (according to limits and conditions).
