With a dedicated adhesive centre in China, the adhesive maker Jowat further strengthens its position in the Asia-Pacific region.

Jowat SE from Detmold established Jowat China Adhesives Co. Ltd. in the summer of 2022 as a 100% subsidiary with two strategic goals in mind: becoming closer to the client and enhancing its competitive position on the largest market in the world. The company has just placed the foundation stone for a new production facility in Pinghu City, Jiaxing, in the Chinese province of Zhejiang. On the 17,300 square metre property, Jowat is also constructing a cutting-edge research and development facility in addition to a manufacturing and storage facility.

The Asian market is becoming more crucial to the company’s operations. Today, that region already contributes more than 10% of the manufacturer’s overall revenue. Jowat in order to service the significant market even more successfully in the future, particularly in the high-volume areas with intense competition, is currently optimising its manufacturing network and supply chains.

According to Dr. Ralf Schelbach, vice president for Asia-Pacific at Jowat SE, “Our commitment and investment in China also opens up the opportunity to tap new markets which have their manufacturing centres in the region, such as the growing market for consumer electronics.” “Chinese factories produce more than 80% of those goods. To address the needs of that industry, local product creation and quick market maturation are essential criteria. Future developments in this area will focus heavily on sustainable adhesive solutions.Over 11,000 square metres of space will be occupied by the new Jowat Adhesive Centre in Asia. is anticipated to be finished by 2023’s end. The first batch of adhesive will then be produced in time for the Chinese New Year in 2024, if everything goes according to plan.
