VeriVide, a BTMA member, will unveil UltraView at ITMA 2023 in Milan from June 8–14 in order to achieve a new level of uniform and standardised colour assessment.Major international retailers from all over the world use the company’s light booths and lighting cabinets to set and maintain visual quality standards across their supply chains.Given the intricate structure of the textile business and the numerous process steps each individual garment goes through from the designer’s desk to the finished garment on the retail shelf — frequently travelling across multiple continents — this is no simple task.

Benefits

Designers, mills, and brands can benefit from UltraView’s variety of sustainable new advantages when combined with VeriVide’s extremely successful DigiEye technology for non-contact colour. Measurement and digital imaging can significantly improve a business’s bottom line by reducing time, costs, and CO2 emissions.

All applicable international lighting and colour assessment standards are met by the new all-LED light booth. The UltraView contains numerous pre-set point-of-sale light sources and the company’s A-rated CIE D65 and CIE D50 artificial daylight light sources. It is completely tuneable for recalibration to each customer’s specific needs. In the past, specific light booths had to be built up for the required configurations of each unique customer’s switch sets. But with UltraView’s quick flexibility, several light booths are no longer necessary.

It also removes the requirement for the frequent bulb replacements that were required in order to offer significant energy savings when using fluorescent lights.

A variant of the UltraView, called VisionView, is available with an inside display to enable physical samples to be compared with their digital counterparts, if necessary. As supply chains continue to shift away from time-consuming and expensive physical sampling, digitization is becoming more and more important.

DigiEye

VeriVide’s DigiEye gathers and processes data for non-contact colour measurement and digital imaging that can be communicated and shared quickly, allowing producers, manufacturers, and processors to accelerate quality control, maintain product integrity, and cut waste.

DigiEye also overcomes the limits of spectrophotometers, which are restricted to products having a solid colour look and can only measure ‘average’ colour, evaluating the little area of the object exposed in the instrument’s aperture.

These restrictions go even further. Compounding occurs when a product exhibits any type of multicoloured traits or look, an uneven or inconsistent surface, a colour range too tiny for the equipment to detect, or any type of surface sheen, including carpet pile and the shine of satin and silk.

According to VeriVide Sales Manager Adam Dakin, “DigiEye addresses these challenges by delivering a ‘best practise’ combination of lighting and visual assessment principles, along with non-contact digital measurement for quantifiable and objective quality control.” In contrast to a spectrophotometer, the DigiEye system enables the evaluation of the complete product, ensuring that all colours may be evaluated and measured in context with all other visual and surface impact elements of a product. It can also hold objects that are essential parts of the clothing. industry, such as lace, lingerie, patterns, prints and home furnishings, that are non-solid in colour and are heavily textured. We look forward to outlining the benefits of the new UltraView and our DigiEye system with customers old and new at ITMA 2023.”
“VeriVide is a family-run business which has specialised in colour management solutions for almost sixty years, and over that time has built up the trust of the major brands,” says BTMA CEO Jason Kent. “The company is rightfully proud of its standing and reputation for service across the industry and the new UltraView will only reinforce this.”
