A new global collaboration brings future-ready, low-temperature bleaching and dyeing technologies to cotton producers worldwide.

Archroma has entered an exclusive global partnership with Fibre52® to scale a patented, low-temperature neutral-pH bleaching system that—when combined with Archroma’s AVITERA® SE dyes—creates one of the textile industry’s most resource-efficient bleach-and-dye solutions for cotton and cotton/polyester fabrics.

Archroma has strengthened its sustainability portfolio with a global partnership that positions Fibre52®’s patented low-temperature, neutral-pH bleaching technology at the center of next-generation cotton processing. The collaboration, announced jointly in Pratteln, Switzerland, and Houston, Texas, on December 4, 2025, designates Archroma as the exclusive worldwide distributor of the Fibre52® system—an advancement designed to reshape how cotton and cotton/polyester fabrics are pretreated and dyed.

Through this agreement, Fibre52®’s innovative bleaching chemistry will be integrated into Archroma’s global sales and technical service channels, giving mills broader access to a ZDHC MRSL v3.1–compliant and OEKO-TEX®-approved process. When paired with Archroma’s resource-efficient AVITERA® SE dyes, the combined system delivers one of the industry’s highest-performance, lowest-impact bleach-and-dye solutions available today.

Driving resource savings at scale

The joint system offers significant environmental advantages, enabling mills to reduce water consumption and CO₂ emissions by as much as 50%. The technologies support brand and mill commitments toward carbon reduction and long-term sustainability goals while delivering measurable operational benefits at the manufacturing level.

Fibre52® replaces traditional, high-temperature caustic bleaching with a gentle, low-temperature process that maintains the cotton fiber’s natural wax layer. This preservation improves strength, softness, and durability while reducing process weight loss by 2–4%. Because the fiber’s natural hand feel remains intact, producers can also minimize their reliance on additional softeners.

Already in use by partner mills across several regions, the system performs consistently across all fabric shades—including whites—and excels on cotton/polyester blends. When used in tandem with Archroma’s AVITERA® SE dyes, mills benefit from improved dye fixation, deeper color, and greater overall efficiency in both pretreatment and dyeing.

Built for modern production environments

Engineered for a wide range of process platforms, Fibre52® is adaptable to cotton, cotton/polyester, manmade cellulosics, and cotton-rich blends. Its compatibility with recycled cotton also supports broader industry ambitions to advance circular production models. Together with Archroma’s global technical expertise, the partnership is expected to accelerate adoption of a unified, low-impact bleach-and-dye system across major textile hubs.

Executive Perspectives

“Our goal has always been to make sustainable cotton processing the global standard,” said Laura Thornquist, President of Innovo Fiber LLC, owner of Fibre52®. “Through our partnership with Archroma, we can now deliver that vision at scale—combining Fibre52®’s neutral-pH, caustic-free technology with Archroma’s AVITERA® SE dyes to create a complete, low-impact bleach-and-dye system. This is how the industry moves forward: practical innovation that improves performance, protects fibers, and dramatically reduces environmental impact.”

“This partnership is a strategic milestone that brings together Innovo Fiber’s groundbreaking technology and Archroma’s sustainability innovation. Together we are empowering the textile industry to achieve new levels of efficiency and environmental sustainability. This is a game-changer for the industry and we are excited to lead the charge,” said Dhirendra Gautam, VP Commercial, Archroma. “With Fibre52®, we now deliver a unique, industry-first solution, for cotton and its blends, as part of Archroma’s SUPER SYSTEMS+ portfolio.”
