It is one of the four newly designated towns of export excellence, joining the existing 39 towns of export excellence. These are Varanasi for handloom and handicrafts, Moradabad for handicrafts, Mirzapur for handcrafted carpets and dari, and Faridabad for clothing.
The traditional handloom and handicraft products produced in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary district are well-known internationally and have a high potential for export.
