Intex Sri Lanka 2025 Concludes as Textile Sourcing Hub

The 10th edition of Intex Sri Lanka concluded with remarkable success, marking a decade of fostering connections between global manufacturers, solution providers, and apparel industry stakeholders. This year’s event, held from 6–8 August 2025 at BMICH Colombo across five halls, showcased over 400 booths from more than 15 countries and regions. Country Pavilions from India, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indonesia, and China drew 6,944+ trade visitors, buyers, and professionals from 25+ countries spanning South Asia, ASEAN, MENA, UK, USA, and beyond, reaffirming Sri Lanka’s standing as South Asia’s textile sourcing hub.

The Grand Opening Ceremony was attended by Hon. Sunil Handunnetti, Minister of Industry & Entrepreneurship Development, and Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister, alongside dignitaries including H.E. Miyon Lee, Ambassador of South Korea, H.E. Dewi Gustina Tobing, Ambassador of Indonesia, Saurabh Sabhlok, First Secretary (Economic & Commercial), High Commission of India, and Mr. Saif Jafferjee, Chairman of JAAF. With Eurofins as Sustainability Partner, Kasturi Cotton as Traceability Partner, and Super Dry and Oritain UK as Branding Partners, the event highlighted sustainability, traceability, innovation, and brand building.
Reflecting on the success, Hon. Sunil Handunnetti stated:
“Intex Sri Lanka has, over the past decade, grown into far more than just a sourcing exhibition — it is now a platform where ideas meet action, where Sri Lanka connects with the world, and where our apparel sector’s strengths are on full display. This year’s edition has shown how innovation, sustainability, and collaboration can redefine the future of manufacturing in our region. As we look ahead, the Ministry will continue to support initiatives like Intex that bring global buyers and local producers together, helping Sri Lanka maintain its position as the hub of textile sourcing in South Asia.”

Two successful B2B matchmaking sessions took place, including Kasturi Cotton with Sri Lankan stakeholders and Indonesian suppliers with Sri Lankan buyers, paving the way for new partnerships.
The Interactive Business Forum (IBF) continued to provide deep industry insights. Day 1, “Apparel 2030: Re-Stitching Fashion’s Future”, focused on circularity, traceability, and smart textiles, while Day 2, “Trust Over Trends: Building Brands Consumers Trust”, explored brand resilience, transparency, and consumer engagement. Experts from Sri Lanka, India, USA, UK, and more shared actionable strategies to shape the apparel industry’s future.

The co-located InMac – Smart Technology & Innovation in Gar-Tex Machinery Exhibition spotlighted advanced machinery designed to improve resource efficiency and production. From AI-powered inspection systems to digital printing and dyeing technologies, leading companies from Italy, Germany, Turkey, UK, USA, Korea, China, India, and Sri Lanka presented cutting-edge solutions for sustainable manufacturing.
With its strong global participation, knowledge exchange, and technology-driven focus, Intex Sri Lanka 2025 reinforced its position as the region’s most influential textile sourcing platform, driving meaningful connections, innovation, and sustainable industry growth.
