The plan aims to create a comprehensive, large-scale, and cutting-edge industrial infrastructure facility for the textile sector. It is anticipated to lower logistics costs and raise the competitiveness of Indian textiles in the face of competition from nations like Vietnam and Bangladesh. In the free trade agreements that India is negotiating with several nations, the government has placed a particular emphasis on the textile industry.
Through trade agreements with the UK and the EU, India has won zero duty access for textile exports, which could assist increase domestic production.
