According to the Ministry of economy and finance (MEF) of Cambodia, development strategies in the sector of garment, footwear and travel bags are being initiated. As said by the Finance Minister Aun Pormoniroth  that the particular sectors are facing challenges which require development.

As per media reports this will transform Cambodia’s garment, footwear, and bag industry into high value, supportive and diversified. This will not only increase the productivity and create business lines but it will also improve working conditions and the welfare of workers, attract investment that support all the sector and would be beneficial to the export market.

The finance minister further added that the government strategy is aiming to set common directions of development, increase independence and then the stability of the garment, footwear and bags sector and with further implementing sustainability in the environment.
