Hamburg, June 11, 2025 — The Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) has officially announced that Louisa Lösing from the Global Nature Fund (GNF) has joined its Cotton Advisory Board. Lösing’s core expertise lies in preserving biodiversity within agricultural supply chains, a focus that will significantly enhance the board’s ongoing work. Protecting biological diversity is a strategic pillar for AbTF, which is actively transforming cotton and textile production through its standards—Cotton made in Africa® (CmiA), Cotton made in Africa Organic, and the Regenerative Cotton Standard® (RCS). These initiatives aim to conserve nature while helping producers improve efficiency and build resilience in the face of climate shifts and market demands.

With over 25 years of active involvement in environmental and nature conservation efforts, GNF conducts global projects that foster sustainable development in collaboration with local partners. Since 2005, it has supported biodiversity and ecosystem protection efforts in the private sector. The organization has also played a strong role in Africa, delivering water security, agricultural adaptation, and food security programs that address the realities of climate change.

As Deputy Head of Business and Biodiversity at GNF, Louisa Lösing helps companies and standard-setting organizations with biodiversity management. Her support includes integrating biodiversity due diligence requirements and helping develop strategies for its protection.

“Standard setters play a key role in integrating biodiversity aspects into international supply chains and bringing companies together with producers. We try to actively support this through our work. As a result, we are thrilled about the invitation and the trust it demonstrates, and we look forward to putting our knowledge to work for AbTF,” says Louisa Lösing.

Tina Stridde, Managing Director at the Aid by Trade Foundation, also commented:

“In Louisa Lösing, we have gained an expert in the fields of CSRD and CSDDD who successfully advises companies in their biodiversity activities. We look forward to working with her and the renowned Global Nature Fund.”

The AbTF Cotton Advisory Board is composed of global stakeholders from NGOs, textile and cotton companies, and government institutions. It benefits from this wide-ranging expertise and experience, playing a vital role in shaping AbTF’s strategic direction through collaboration and advisory engagement.
