The partnership between Filo and C.L.A.S.S., the international eco-hub founded by Giusy Bettoni, continues to flourish in the spirit of creativity and responsible innovation.

Sustainability from A to Z: A Focus on Responsible Innovation

At the 63rd edition of Filo, the initiative “Sustainability from A to Z”, developed in collaboration with C.L.A.S.S., continues to guide companies in navigating the complex landscape of sustainability. This edition emphasizes responsible innovation, offering deep insights through technical expertise, case studies, and industry testimonials. The shared goal of Filo and C.L.A.S.S. is to support the industry in making informed, sustainable choices aligned with evolving market demands.

The showcase at Filo 63 will focus on the transformative role of “green chemistry” and the impact of advanced natural fibres, particularly cotton and linen, in creating a more sustainable and traceable textile industry.

Innovative Materials in the Spotlight

At Filo 63, C.L.A.S.S. will present projects and solutions from selected companies, focusing on two key materials:

Cotton: Supima®’s Traceable Excellence

Representing cotton at the event is Supima®, an ultra-premium cotton grown in the U.S., known for its extra-long staple fibers, superior strength, and exceptional color retention. Supima® has pioneered an innovative traceability system through the AQRe™ Project (Authenticated Quality and Responsible Engagement). This blockchain-based platform, developed with TextileGenesis™, ensures real-time monitoring of the cotton supply chain. Additionally, Supima® partners with Oritain™ to implement forensic testing, guaranteeing authenticity and transparency from field to final product. This initiative aligns with the industry’s growing demand for sustainable and traceable materials.

Linen: A Digital Transformation for European Flax

The Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp will highlight its comprehensive approach to sustainable innovation in flax-linen production. Key developments include:

  • Enhanced Flax-Linen Certifications
  • Launch of a blockchain-based digital traceability platform, developed in collaboration with TextileGenesis™ and Lectra, set to debut in May 2025
  • Publication of datasets and a B2B environmental footprint calculation tool
  • Scientific validation of flax-linen’s functional properties
  • A new sourcing platform for sustainable flax-linen & hemp materials

These initiatives mark a significant step forward in ensuring full traceability, sustainability, and transparency within the European Flax-Linen & Hemp industry.

Green Chemistry: REVECOL® by ERCA

Another highlight at the C.L.A.S.S. space is the revolutionary REVECOL® by ERCA Textile Chemical Solutions—a pioneering 100% Made in Italy innovation. This groundbreaking technology transforms waste vegetable cooking oils into high-performance, certified textile auxiliaries, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 72%. With certifications including GRS, RCS, ZDHC, bluesign®, and GOTS, REVECOL® sets a new benchmark for circularity, sustainability, and performance in textile chemistry.

Industry Discussions: Dialoghi di Confronto

Throughout Filo 63, the C.L.A.S.S. team will be available to engage with industry professionals on the latest innovations in sustainability, traceability, and material science. Additionally, two key discussions will take place within the Dialoghi di Confronto program:

  • February 26, 3:30 PMGiusy Bettoni (C.L.A.S.S.) interviews Roberto Ghioldi (ERCA TCS) on the role of REVECOL® in transforming textile chemistry.
  • February 26, 4:00 PM – A panel discussion on advanced natural fibres, featuring industry experts and TextileGenesis™ representatives, exploring the potential of traceability and innovation.
