bigbasket Unveils The Green Report 2022: Electric Delivery Fleet Saves 3.18 Lakh Trees Worth of CO2 Emissions in 2022

Bangalore, 5th June 2023: On the occasion of World Environment Day 2023, bigbasket (www.bigbasket.com), a TATA Enterprise, releases The Green Report 2022, showcasing its unwavering commitment to sustainability. The report reveals key insights and data that underscore bigbasket’s dedication to environmental responsibility, sustainable practices, and initiatives for a greener future. This release comes as a testament to bigbasket’s continued efforts to drive positive change and contribute to a more sustainable world.

One notable accomplishment highlighted in the report is bigbasket’s utilization of electric delivery vehicles. As a pioneer in the electric vehicle revolution, the company’s fleet of 5458 electric delivery vehicles successfully reduced 7012 tonnes of CO2 emissions in 2022. This reduction is equivalent to the impact of 3.18 lakh trees, demonstrating bigbasket’s commitment to combatting climate change.

Moreover, bigbasket’s solar power generation initiatives have yielded remarkable results. With 4,512k Wp panels installed atop 27 warehouses in 11 cities, the company generated a substantial 54,57,000 kWh of solar power in 2022, reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 1,670 tonnes. This achievement alone is equivalent to the positive impact of 76,000 trees.

In addition to these efforts, bigbasket has actively supported organic farmers, supplying organic produce from 1,782 farmers in 2022. Through field geotagging, agricultural intelligence, and knowledge-sharing sessions, the company is driving the adoption of sustainable farming practices and working towards its vision of going 100% organic in the coming years.
