Eight of Ten Denim Mills at Kingpins 2025 Rely on Monforts for Sustainable Innovation
At the latest Kingpins Amsterdam exhibition held on April 16–17, Monforts solidified its position as the preferred technology partner for the world’s top denim producers. Eight out of ten denim fabrics featured in the 2025 Most Sustainable Product (MSP) showcase were manufactured using Monforts’ energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies, such as MONTEX stenters, MONFORTEX Shrinking ranges, ECO LINE finishing systems, and THERMEX dyeing ranges.
“Our technologies continue to define industry standards in denim finishing,” said Hans Wroblowski, Head of Denim at Monforts. “From spray coating and thermo-stretch to skew technologies, Monforts solutions enable higher performance, production efficiency, and significant energy savings.”
MSP Recognition and Global Presence
Denim mills recognized for their MSP fabrics include:
-
Arvind (India)
-
Diamond Corduroy (Pakistan)
-
Isko (Turkey)
-
Naveena Denim (NDL)
-
Orta (Turkey)
-
Saitex (Vietnam)
-
Soorty (Pakistan)
-
Textil Santanderina (Spain)
Stretch Yourself: A Design Exploration
Seven of Monforts’ partner mills also contributed fabrics to the ‘Stretch Yourself’ design initiative by the House of Denim Foundation’s Jean School. In collaboration with The Lycra Company, 30 fashion students explored innovative stretch denim concepts using fabrics from:
-
Bossa, Calik, Orta (Turkey)
-
Naveena, Soorty (Pakistan)
-
DNM Denim (Egypt)
-
Advance Denim (China)
“The students were encouraged to experiment freely after a sustainability module, leading to unexpected yet compelling outcomes,” said Mariette Hoitink, co-founder of the House of Denim.
Rising Role of Cellulosics
While cotton remains denim’s staple fibre, Lenzing’s Tencel and Ecovero cellulosics are gaining ground for their soft touch and sustainability. Lenzing’s Application Innovation Collection 25—created in collaboration with several Monforts-powered mills including Advance Denim, Naveena, Soorty, TCE Jeans, and US Denim Mills—was a highlight in Amsterdam.
“We’re responding to brand demand for sustainable styles with varied wash effects,” noted Dennis Hui of Lenzing Hong Kong.
Gentle Processing for Sensitive Fibres
Monforts’ ECO LINE is designed for gentle and precise finishing—ideal for delicate or elastic fibres. Its double rubber shrinking ranges and ThermoStretch units, which combine drying, stretching, and skewing, ensure superior fabric elasticity and reproducibility with minimal chemical use via the EcoApplicator system.
Econtrol® Continuous Dyeing
Monforts mills are increasingly adopting Econtrol® and Econtrol® TC-A processes, enabling one-step dyeing and drying for cotton, blends, and cellulosics. The system fixes dyestuffs efficiently in 2–3 minutes at controlled temperatures and humidity—significantly reducing processing time and environmental impact.
“Our denim partners are using Monforts systems to develop new, in-house processes for even better ecological outcomes,” Wroblowski added. “These collaborations shape the cutting-edge jeans seen at every Kingpins show.”
