EcoTasar, BAU Join Forces for Greener Silk Production

Bhagalpur, Bihar — EcoTasar, a leading sustainable textile company, has partnered with Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, to innovate in eco-friendly Tasar silk production. The MoU between the two organizations focuses on collaborative research, technology sharing, and skill development to improve both the quality and sustainability of silk.

This collaboration aims to uplift rural artisans and sericulture farmers by enhancing economic opportunities while promoting environmentally conscious practices. The initiative will combine EcoTasar’s grassroots experience with BAU’s scientific expertise to make Bihar a key player in sustainable silk innovation.

Khitish Pandya, Founder of EcoTasar, stated, “This partnership aligns our community-first approach with scientific advancement, ensuring innovation and benefits trickle down to rural producers.”

EcoTasar, established in 2007, is a Fair-Trade private enterprise producing handwoven, low-carbon textile products from natural fibers like silk, cotton, and linen, with operations in Bihar and Jharkhand.
