On World Environment Day, Duroflex, India’s leading sleep solutions brand, proudly announced it has recycled over 2 million PET bottles into sustainable mattresses over the past three years. This milestone is part of the brand’s long-term mission to repurpose plastic waste while offering environmentally conscious sleep solutions.

Every mattress from Duroflex’s Energise collection uses high-performance fabric crafted from recycled PET bottles—transforming potential marine waste into durable, comfort-enhancing materials. In doing so, the brand combines sustainable innovation with superior sleep technology.

To raise public awareness about plastic pollution and marine conservation, Duroflex unveiled an art installation of a sea turtle made from PET bottles at its Indiranagar Experience Centre in Bengaluru. This impactful display underscores the brand’s commitment to transforming environmental threats into practical solutions that benefit consumers and ecosystems alike.

Sridhar Balakrishnan, Group CEO, Duroflex, said:

“Over 500 billion PET bottles are used globally each year, yet less than 10% are recycled. This leaves the vast majority to end up in our oceans, posing a grave threat to marine life. In line with our commitment to sustainability at Duroflex, we have adopted innovative technology that recycles these PET bottles into usable fabric used in our Energise mattress line. While this is just one step in addressing a much larger challenge, we hope our approach encourages other companies to explore how their operations can contribute to environmental solutions.”

The company’s fully backward-integrated manufacturing units—including South India’s largest foam production facility in Hosur—enable large-scale production of eco-friendly mattresses. The Energise range caters to modern consumers with active lifestyles and features sleep-enhancing innovations such as 3-zoned NRG Layer, QUBE Cell technology, and copper ion cooling, proving that sustainability can coexist with premium quality.
