Birla Cellulose, the premier pulp and fiber branch of the Aditya Birla Group, has introduced three ground-breaking innovations—Intellicolor, EcoSoft, and SaFR—that are further pushing the boundaries of sustainable fashion. By fusing fashion with environmental consciousness, these inventions hope to contribute to a sustainable future.

The business introduced Birla Viscose Intellicolor, an environmentally friendly dyeing solution that doesn’t require salt. Vibrant colors are achieved with lower dye concentrations when using the Intellicolor system because it uses cationic dyes that have a dye exhaustion rate greater than 95%. This method cuts down on the amount of chemicals and utilities used, speeds up processing, and uses 25–50% less color.

Birla Viscose EcoSoft is an opulent, FSC-certified fiber that is derived from bamboo that is sourced responsibly. EcoSoft is well-known for its moisture control and breathability, and it provides great comfort. The fabric is a popular option in fashion because of its silky drape, which radiates luxury and elegance. Additionally, a molecular tracer is included with every EcoSoft fiber to guarantee authenticity and reaffirm the company’s dedication to openness.

Phosphate-based Birla SaFR flame-retardant fiber is intended for use in technical textile applications. Without sacrificing comfort, it offers protection in high-risk settings, including emergency services and defense. SaFR is superior to other high-performance fibers in terms of flame resistance and char lengths; thus, it can be combined to build protective apparel. This invention is the first flame-retardant fabric for the technical textile market to be produced in India.
