Technical Research Advisory Committee (TRAC) Meeting of Wool Research Association (WRA), Thane was held on Friday, 28th February, 2025 in both physical (at conference room, WRA) as well as virtual mode.
A total of twenty-five (25) members from Industries, Academia, & Research Institutes (TRAC members & special invitees) attended this meeting. WRA Scientists presented the progress of ongoing R&D Projects funded by different funding agencies, such as the National Technical Textile Mission (NTTM), Central Wool Development Board (CWDB), National Jute Board (NJB), etc., to the august gathering.
WRA’s Scientists further presented future plans & research areas catering to the Woollen Industry, Sports Textile Industry, Agro Textiles, Various areas of Technical Textile Applications, viz, Extreme cold climate clothing, protective textiles, development of m-aramid fibres, conversion of natural resources to industrial products, circularity & sustainability, etc.
Extensive discussions were held, and new ideas were also shared by the TRAC members. Shri. H.K. Chatterjee, Director General, WRA, in his welcome address, emphasized that WRA’s belief has always been to work R&D in the areas which are directly going to benefit the Textile Industry. Stalwarts from the industry and academia appreciated the R&D activities of WRA. TRAC members have also witnessed the Research Infrastructure & Testing Facilities of WRA and appreciated the same. WRA has launched its new website (www.wraindia.com) on this occasion.
