The second batch of Master of Fashion Management students at NIFT Daman Campus has achieved remarkable success. The 2023-25 batch, comprising 29 students, excelled in their graduation project internships, working closely with prominent textile and apparel industries, fashion marketing and retail companies, and international business export houses. Throughout their program, they were taught by NIFT faculty members in the first three semesters and gained hands-on experience through a two-month mini project internship in June-July 2024. This batch has garnered numerous accolades, including presenting research papers at international conferences in Kangra and Gandhinagar, and securing second place in a national-level fashion management quiz among 19 NIFT networks. The students have received impressive job offers, with Myntra offering a package of ₹12.5 lakhs per annum, one of the highest in the industry. Notably, almost all students have received offers from their respective graduation project companies, while also exploring other opportunities.
The success of NIFT Daman Campus can be attributed to its strategic location, situated between Mumbai and Surat, which provides a unique advantage. Director Sandeep Sachan highlighted that the campus’s excellent infrastructure and academic delivery are key factors that attract students. Moreover, the full support of Union Territory Administrator Praful Patel has been instrumental in enabling NIFT to establish its 18th campus in Daman, further contributing to its growth and success.
Currently, the campus offers a postgraduate course in Fashion Management and an undergraduate course in Textile Design. The strong support from the textile and apparel industry enables students to undertake regular industry visits in and around Daman, Silvassa, and Vapi. Each batch organizes two industry visits per month, providing students with valuable hands-on experience and exposure to real-world industry practices. This industry-academia collaboration plays a vital role in shaping the students’ understanding and preparing them for successful careers in the fashion and textile sectors.
