The Global Sourcing Expo, recognised by Forbes as one of the Top Global Fashion Expos, has officially scheduled its return to Sydney from June 17th to 19th, 2025. Following the Sydney event, the expo will also take place in Melbourne in November 2025.
Leveraging momentum built over the past 15 years, the event serves as a significant platform connecting thousands of international suppliers specialising in apparel, footwear, textiles, and homewares with the Australian market. Marie Kinsella, CEO of the International Expo Group, and organisor of the event, highlighted its recent success, stating, “Last year, we saw more than 4,450 visitors in attendance in Sydney during the course of the three-day sourcing extravaganza,” She also pointed to substantial growth, noting “a 48% year-on-year increase in registrations and attendance from 2023 to 2024, highlighting growing demand for an industry event of this nature.“
The expo is designed to bring together over 5,000 trade buyers and industry professionals, providing a solution to common sourcing challenges. Kinsella explained, “Rather than having to undertake the costly exercise of travelling abroad to connect with potential partners, local buyers, fashion designers and professionals can connect with hundreds of global manufacturers, producers, service providers and fashion labels, as well as industry experts – all under one roof,” She added, “This event is transforming sourcing as we know it.“
Reflecting on previous iterations, feedback has been highly positive. Exhibitors reported successfully connecting with their desired audience, generating valuable leads, and achieving a return on their investment. Visitors likewise praised the comprehensive access to global suppliers, manufacturers, and a diverse product range within a single venue, further enhanced by insightful seminar sessions.
The upcoming 2025 show is bolstered by the support of several prominent industry associations. Kinsella views this backing as a testament to the expo’s established reputation and notes that it offers attendees “a unique opportunity to engage with associations dedicated to the development of their industry.“
A key feature, the Sourcing Seminar Series, will return, presenting leading experts who will address significant topics and trends influencing the future of fashion, sourcing, and textiles. The series aims to equip attendees with practical strategies for navigating industry changes, addressing key challenges, and fostering business growth. Kinsella anticipates that the 2025 lineup will be the strongest yet, teasing topics such as trends, eCommerce, sustainability, the application of AI in marketing and business, and supplier management, with the official agenda to be released soon.
Kinsella emphasised the expo’s role as a central hub: “It has always been our goal to offer the Expo as a destination – a space where the sourcing and buying market can find the products, global partners and suppliers needed to bolster their supply chains and their business strategies,” She affirmed a commitment to continuous development through research and industry partnerships to maintain relevance and value.
The 2025 events will again include the co-located China Clothing Textile Accessories Expo, expanding the range of high-quality brands and products available to visitors from various countries.
The Sydney show anticipates hosting over 400 exhibitors across categories, including apparel, accessories, footwear, leather, homeware, and textiles. It remains the sole Australian event specifically targeting wholesale and retail buying groups, presenting a key opportunity for market entry.
Exhibitor registration for the Global Sourcing Expo Sydney is currently open, with stands reportedly filling quickly. Prospective exhibitors are encouraged to secure their space soon, as the event is only four months away, and to follow the expo’s social media for updates. Bookings for both the Sydney and Melbourne expos can be made via the official website.
