IEEE WAMS 2026 Inaugurated at B V Raju Institute of Technology in Hyderabad

International symposium brings together experts from 18 countries to discuss 6G, antenna technologies and next-generation wireless communication systems
The 5th IEEE Wireless, Antennas and Microwave Symposium (WAMS 2026) was formally inaugurated at B V Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), Narsapur, Hyderabad, on 10th June 2026.
The four-day symposium is being organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from 10–13 June 2026.
The inauguration was led by Chief Guest Mr. Phil Venezia, Chief Engineer, LYNTRIS, USA, along with Guests of Honour Prof. Christophe Fumeaux, Past President, IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, Australia, and Sri Aditya Vissam, Secretary, SVES.

The symposium focuses on developments in wireless communication systems, advanced antenna technologies, satellite systems, biomedical engineering and next-generation networks. Organisers stated that the event is intended to provide students and researchers with exposure to emerging technologies, research developments and professional networking opportunities.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Sanjay Dubey, Principal, BVRIT, highlighted the significance of the symposium and stated that seven distinguished global experts delivered keynote addresses on the inaugural day. He noted that the event provides an excellent platform for students and faculty members to gain exposure to cutting-edge developments in antennas, wireless communications, and microwave technologies.
In his welcome address, Dr. B. R. Sanjeeva Reddy, Head of the Department of ECE and General Chair of WAMS 2026, highlighted the participation of delegates from 18 countries, including the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Italy, Singapore, Poland, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, and France.
He also noted that institutions including WIT (USA), Boston-based universities, RMIT University (Australia), and NTU Singapore are represented at the symposium.

According to Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy, the event received 1,059 technical paper submissions. Following the peer-review process, 753 papers were accepted for oral and poster presentations.
Researchers from all 29 states of India are participating, including representatives from IITs, IISc Bengaluru, NITs, IIITs, BITS, leading universities, industries and national laboratories.

As part of the opening day, the Global Keynote Sessions, Rapid Thesis Challenge and Technology Exhibition were formally launched. The accepted research papers will be presented through multiple technical sessions during the four-day programme.
The symposium is being organised under the guidance of Dr. K. Lakshmi Prasad, Director, BVRIT; Dr. Sanjay Dubey, Principal, BVRIT; and Dr. Sudhakar K. Rao, Rao's Consultants LLC, Los Angeles, USA. Event coordination is being led by Dr. B. R. Sanjeeva Reddy, Head, Department of ECE and General Chair, WAMS 2026.
Among others, Mr. B. Bapiraju, Manager (Administration), BVRIT, and Mr. Suresh, Administrative Officer, also participated in the inaugural session.
