ICAC, Uzbekistan & Bizpando Partner for Regenerative Cotton Farming

The Government of Uzbekistan has designated 55,000 hectares of land to launch a regenerative agriculture initiative for cotton cultivation, undertaken jointly with the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) and Bizpando — a blockchain-powered platform that enables transparent, compliant, and traceable supply chains.
As part of this collaboration, ICAC Chief Scientist Dr. Keshav Kranthi conducted an intensive three-day training program from 21–23 October 2025 at the Cotton Research Institute in Tashkent. The training combined classroom-based learning with on-field demonstrations and was attended by 50 participants, including scientists and government representatives from Uzbekistan.
The program continued with a one-day field training session held in Jizzakh on 24 October 2025, jointly led by Dr. Kranthi and Dr. Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov. The session drew 98 farmers, with Bizpando representatives Mr. Jasper Bhowmick and Mr. Mark Li also participating.
Following the training programs, Dr. Abdurakhmonov—Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture—visited ICAC Headquarters in Washington, DC, accompanied by senior delegates Mr. Javlon Raimov and Mr. Abrorbek Kosimov. During the visit, Dr. Abdurakhmonov, Dr. Kranthi, and Bizpando CEO Jasper Bhowmick formally signed the Memorandum of Understanding solidifying their cooperation.
The Ministry of Agriculture is now working to identify carbon testing laboratories for accreditation and certification, advised by Dr. Kranthi, who is helping establish testing standards and accreditation frameworks.
In parallel, Bizpando has received a list of participating farmers to begin registration and documentation for carbon credit disbursal. To streamline the process, Bizpando will send Mr. Li to Uzbekistan from 17–21 November 2025 to train farmers and government officials on documentation procedures and carbon credit verification requirements.
