ICAC International Seminar 2026 in Taipei to Focus on Cotton and Man-Made Fiber Supply Chain Collaboration
Industry leaders to discuss resilient textile supply chains, sustainability, circular economy and innovative blended textile applications at the September 10 event
The ICAC International Seminar 2026 will bring together international leaders from the cotton and textile sectors to discuss collaboration across the textile value chain.
The event will focus on building more resilient and integrated supply chains while exploring sustainable development, circular economy initiatives and opportunities for innovative blending techniques and high-value-added textile products.
A key session of the seminar will feature Kanwar Usman, ICAC Head of Textiles, who will deliver a 30-minute keynote address titled “Outlook for the Global Cotton Textile Supply Chain.”
His presentation will examine emerging trends in global trade, the factors reshaping textile supply chains and market developments expected to influence the sector in the coming years.
“The global textile industry is being transformed by shifting trade relationships, geopolitical uncertainty, sustainability expectations, technological advances and changing consumer demand,” Usman said. “This seminar will bring together expertise from across the value chain to identify practical opportunities to strengthen resilience, accelerate responsible innovation, and create greater value for cotton and textiles.”
Following the keynote, a panel discussion titled “Innovative Textile Blended Applications: From Production to Branding” will be moderated by Taiwan Textile Federation President Justin Huang.
The panel will feature:
- Dr Charudatta Mayee, President, Indian Society for Cotton Improvement
- Dr Fanny Liao, Executive Vice President, Far Eastern New Century Corp
- Dr Hans Hsu, President, Ruentex Industries Limited
An extended open discussion will also allow participants to interact directly with ICAC Executive Director Eric Trachtenberg and the seminar speakers.
The seminar will also highlight Taiwan’s developments in green textile processes, circular-economy solutions and innovative high-value-added textile products.
Taiwan has partnered with the ICAC to organize seminars in Taipei since 2005, with eight editions successfully conducted to date.
The main seminar will be held at the National Taiwan University Hospital International Conference Center in Taipei. Mandarin-English simultaneous interpretation will be available, and registration for the event is free.
