Hero MotoCorp, in association with the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), officially launched Phase 2 of its leading CSR program, Project Saksham, through a ceremonial event held at Hotel Shivam Inn, Avas Vikas Colony, Agra. The initiative aims to equip 20,000 women nationwide with industry-relevant skills to help them build sustainable careers in the evolving automotive ecosystem.

Hosted in collaboration with NIFA Infocom Services Pvt. Ltd. at the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) in Agra, the launch event marked a significant milestone in promoting gender inclusivity and skill development in India’s mobility sector.

The program will focus on training women for various roles such as sales, customer service, and technical areas including diagnostics and maintenance of Electric Vehicles (EVs)—a sector poised for massive growth. The goal is to enable women to not just enter but thrive in both traditional and emerging automotive fields.

Smt. Hemlata Divakar Kushwaha, Mayor of Agra Municipal Corporation, attended the event as Chief Guest. Applauding the initiative, she said: “Empowering women through skill development enriches not only their individual futures but also bolsters our local and national economies. Project Saksham is an important leap toward gender equity and inclusive development.”

Mr. Vinkesh Gulati, Vice President of ASDC, also shared his thoughts, highlighting the importance of upskilling in the current industry climate: “As the automotive sector transitions into an era of electric mobility and smart technologies, it is imperative that women are provided equal opportunities to lead this change. Project Saksham is not just about skill-building—it's about enabling women to become influential drivers of this transformation.”

Phase 2 of Project Saksham builds on the success of its initial phase by expanding both geographically and in its course offerings. In addition to technical training, participants will undergo modules in soft skills, workplace behavior, and financial literacy—ensuring they are job-ready and confident in all aspects of professional life.

The training centre at Madhav Palace, Third Floor, Awas Vikas Colony, Sector 3, Bodla Sikandra, Agra, will act as a central facility for delivering this hands-on, career-oriented training.

With Project Saksham, Hero MotoCorp and ASDC continue to reaffirm their commitment to cultivating a diverse, future-ready workforce in the Indian automotive sector.
