Hellmann Breaks Ground on Dedicated Automotive Logistics Hub in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone

New 28,000 sq. m facility to support automotive spare parts distribution across GCC, Africa and international markets

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has broken ground on a new automotive logistics hub in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Dubai, as part of its long-term growth plans focused on expanding core industry verticals and strengthening global network capabilities.

According to the company, the facility has been designed to meet the growing operational requirements of its automotive customers in the region while creating scalable capacity for future demand. The investment is aimed at enhancing industry-specific infrastructure and supporting logistics operations in the automotive sector.

Hellmann noted that the automotive logistics market in the Middle East is expected to grow at an annual rate of around 4 - 6 % through 2030. The UAE continues to play a significant role as a logistics gateway connecting Europe, Asia and Africa through its multimodal transport infrastructure and supply chain connectivity.

The built-to-suit facility is being developed by INDU Logistics, part of INDU Group, and will operate as a dedicated automotive hub within Hellmann’s Middle East network.

Spanning app. 28.000 m², the facility is designed to handle a wide range of automotive spare parts logistics activities. The infrastructure will include high-density bin storage, pallet racking systems and dedicated handling areas for oversized and bulky components.

Once operational, the site will support high-volume distribution requirements across the GCC, Africa and selected international markets.

Commenting on the development, Lee I’Ons, Regional CEO IMEA, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, said:

“The UAE is a strategically important market within our global network. By establishing this dedicated automotive hub in Jafza, we are systematically expanding our regional capabilities and creating further scalable, industry-focused infrastructure. This enables us to deliver competitive, high-performance logistics solutions for our customers and to support their long-term growth.”

Abdulla Al Hashmi, Global Chief Operating Officer, Parks and Economic Zones, DP World, said:

“Hellman’s investment in Jebel Ali Free Zone reflects the rapid pace at which the automotive industry is growing in the Middle East, with customers looking for faster, more reliable access to critical spare parts across multiple markets. By continuing to build specialized infrastructure in Dubai, we are supporting our partners in managing uncertainty and keeping their operations moving.”

The new hub will form part of Hellmann’s regional logistics network and is intended to strengthen automotive spare parts distribution capabilities across key markets.
