Heimtextil Highlights Design Collaborations at Milan Design Week 2026

Heimtextil participated in Milan Design Week with its design partners Patricia Urquiola and Alcova Milano, presenting collaborative concepts at Villa Pestarini in Milan. The presentation focused on the intersection of textiles, architecture, and design, reflecting the trade fair’s approach to integrated interior design solutions.

Patricia Urquiola and Alcova Milano have contributed to previous editions of Heimtextil, where they presented concepts and design trends. The Milan showcase continued this engagement, highlighting collaborative work developed across recent editions of the trade fair.

“It is always meaningful to continue the dialogue with Heimtextil in Milan, a place where different energies converge. To continue this collaboration means to carry forward a shared line of research, seeing textiles not as mere surfaces, but as living systems: structures, interfaces, and fields of experimentation in continuous evolution,” says Patricia Urquiola.

The installations presented by Patricia Urquiola explored textiles as functional and adaptive materials, incorporating elements such as craftsmanship, technology, texture, sustainability, and structural design.

“At the last two editions of Heimtextil, Patricia Urquiola presented textile design at the highest level. With her exclusive installations, she impressively demonstrated the relevance of textiles in interior design,” says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies, Messe Frankfurt.

At Heimtextil held in January 2026, Patricia Urquiola introduced the immersive design concept “among-all,” which focused on materials, technologies, and design approaches shaping interior spaces. The installation incorporated AI tools, allowing visitor interaction to influence spatial design elements, demonstrating the role of textiles in shaping interaction and movement within environments.
