Heberlein Strengthens Presence in China with DTY Jet Technology and New Service Hub
Advanced APh- and APe-series technologies target compressed-air savings, while Shengze facility expands local technical support
Heberlein is strengthening its presence in the Chinese market with its APh- and APe-series air interlacing and air texturing jets for DTY applications. The company says its technologies, particularly for Air Covering, combine yarn quality with reduced compressed-air consumption, while a new service hub in Shengze City is intended to provide customers with closer technical and service support.
Heberlein has been active in China for the past 20 years, supplying DTY jets for both the retrofitting of existing facilities and new investments. With compressed air representing a cost-intensive resource for mills, the company is focusing on technologies designed to reduce air consumption. The APh- and APe-series will be presented at ITMA Asia + CITME 2026.
Air Covering Applications Continue to Drive Demand
Air Covering has seen strong demand in the Chinese market. The process combines elastane with a covering yarn by interlacing the two components at regular intervals using a controlled air jet.
The resulting yarns provide stretch, comfort and surface properties and are used in products including leggings and sportswear, underwear, hosiery and socks. Other applications include stretch fabrics for trousers and jeans, elasticated cuffs, and medical and compression textiles.
Air Covering allows yarn structures to be adjusted according to the requirements of different end uses. Parameters including air pressure, jet geometry, overfeed, elastane draft and production speed can be modified to achieve the required degree of interlacing and yarn performance.
The integrated yarn can also be processed in subsequent knitting and weaving operations.
APh-Series Targets Lower Air Consumption
The APh-series is designed to provide either increased knot stability or reduced compressed-air consumption. For spinners, reducing compressed-air use and operating costs remains an important objective.
Comparative data from Heberlein shows that, for example, when processing PES dtex 330f96, the APh213 can reduce air consumption by up to 10%.
The treatment is intended to support more reliable downstream processing or lower operating costs. Heberlein experts can assess the potential for individual yarn specifications.
APe-Series Delivers Further Compressed-Air Savings
The APe-series is another area where Heberlein reports compressed-air savings. Several tests have shown reductions of up to 15% in compressed-air consumption.
According to the company, the reduction in air use does not compromise yarn quality. Heberlein states that investment in its new range of Advanced Performance DTY interlacing jets can pay for itself within 18 months.
At ITMA Asia + CITME 2026, visitors will be able to consult Heberlein experts about potential improvements specific to their mills, including processes, costs and quality.
Heberlein will exhibit at Booth D41 in Hall H6.1 at ITMA Asia + CITME in Shanghai, China, from November 20 to 24, 2026.
New Service Hub Opens in Shengze City
Heberlein has also expanded its local service capabilities with a new service hub in Shengze City. The facility has been operating since August 2026 and provides local access to technical support and product expertise.
The hub is designed to provide faster, hands-on assistance, including quick-response service visits, minor maintenance work and cleaning.
Its equipment includes a portable air generator, ultrasonic cleaning system, airflow meter and air splicer. These resources allow service activities and practical testing to be carried out directly on-site.
The local team also provides troubleshooting support and technical assistance during product trials, allowing solutions to be tested and implemented more efficiently.
Long-Term Commitment to Chinese Market
