Leveraging its position as the state with the highest contribution to the country’s GDP, Gujarat made a strong pitch for global textile investments at the Gujarat State Session of Bharat Tex 2026 Knowledge session held in New Delhi.Organised by the Department of Industries, Government of Gujarat, the session was held under the theme “Weaving Tomorrow: Gujarat’s Global Textile Leadership through Innovation, Sustainability & Scalability.”

It brought together domestic and international investors, industry leaders, and senior government officials on one platform.Addressing the gathering, Ms. Mamta Verma, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Mines Department, said textiles in Gujarat represent a decades-old legacy and not just an industry. She invited both new investors and existing players to scale up operations in the state. Ms. Verma highlighted the newly launched ‘Visit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026’, unveiled on 15th June 2026, as a landmark, future-ready framework inspired by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. “The policy is built on the twin principles of ‘Living Well and Earning Well’. It focuses on enterprise promotion, quality job creation, and strengthening artisans, MSMEs and local businesses through branding, better market access, and capacity building,” she said. Investors currently operating in Gujarat also shared testimonials during the session, citing ease of approvals, proactive governance, and strong infrastructure as key reasons for choosing the state.
