Groz-Beckert Unveils New Textile Technologies at ShanghaiTex 2025

Company highlights breakthroughs in knitting, weaving, nonwovens, sewing, and spinning at SNIEC.
Groz-Beckert will present a comprehensive lineup of innovations at ShanghaiTex 2025, showcasing advanced needle systems, precision components, and next-generation solutions across all five product divisions.
When the global textile community converges at ShanghaiTex 2025 from December 16–19 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), Groz-Beckert will once again take centre stage. The technology leader will showcase a sweeping portfolio of new developments across all five of its business divisions—Knitting, Weaving, Nonwovens, Sewing, and Spinning—at Hall N3, Booth A05.
Breakthroughs Across Knitting Technologies
Circular Knitting
One of this year’s headline innovations is the LCmax™, Groz-Beckert’s next-generation energy-efficient needle. Its distinctive wave-shaped shank geometry is engineered to reduce friction, cut energy consumption, and improve handling—all while delivering maximum performance on modern circular knitting machines.

Groz-Beckert will also highlight its rapidly advancing collaboration with machine manufacturer BORGFLY, with whom the company co-developed a new LCmax™ variant featuring a customised hook geometry. Impressively, the first prototype was completed within just four weeks.
Together with PAILUNG, Groz-Beckert introduces two new knitting systems:
- Transfer needle Vo-Spec. 94.41-30 G 0010 – now the finest of its kind, featuring a 0.30 mm needle thickness and a 0.15 mm transfer clip, pushing the limits of precision for ultra-fine fabric creation.
- A new compound needle – designed for higher output, improved process stability, and long service life, even under demanding yarn conditions or high-speed production.
For mills working with staple fibre yarns, the combination of SAN™ SF staple fiber needles and SNK SF sinkers helps reduce contamination and extend cleaning intervals, improving overall machine uptime.

Flat Knitting
In partnership with CIXING, Groz-Beckert will present the robust VOSA-SPEC. 89.60-45 G02 needle, purpose-built for enhanced durability in flat knitting.
Two additional speciality Flat Knitting needles make their debut:
- SAN™ TT – engineered for extremely tight loops, ideal for technical and medical textile applications.
- SAN™ FY – tailored for effect yarns, allowing flawless loop formation and clean surfaces even with uneven or textured yarns.

Legwear
The Legwear division will spotlight dur™ needles, known for their exceptional wear resistance and precision in fine hosiery. New toe-closing system components will also be shown, ensuring consistent loop transfer and superior garment finish.
Warp Knitting
For warp knitting, the company unveils an expanded module range and a new guide needle for Piezo-Jacquard machines, advancing accuracy and repeatability in complex loop formation.
Precision Weaving Solutions
Groz-Beckert’s weaving innovations focus on how preparation and accessories influence fabric quality and machine efficiency. The range includes heald frames, healds, warp stop motions, drop wires, and reeds, compatible with all leading machine types.
Among these, Groz-Beckert reeds will receive special attention. Known for their dimensional stability and high manufacturing precision, these reeds are suited for high-speed production as well as intricate technical textiles, ensuring optimal thread guidance and fabric quality.
Nonwovens: New Carding and Needling Enhancements
In the Nonwovens division, Groz-Beckert highlights solutions for both needling and carding, with a particular focus on card clothing.
The company presents innovations from the Groz-Beckert InLine series: SiroLock™ plus worker and doffer wires, featuring advanced geometries that increase machine availability and deliver stable, high-quality carding results across diverse nonwoven applications.
Sewing: High-Precision Needles for Advanced Applications
The Sewing division brings an expanded range of application-specific needles, including:
- SAN™ 5.2 – for technical textiles such as airbags, offering improved stability and secure loop pick-up.
- SAN™ 6 – ideal for woven fabrics like denim, enhanced with GEBEDUR™ coating for durability.
- SAN™ 10 & SAN™ 10 XS – designed for delicate materials and fine knits requiring precision stitching.
- Litespeed™ – a new-generation needle optimized for high-speed sewing or dense materials, reducing friction and heat buildup for smoother operation.
- MR needle – engineered for multidirectional stitching, ensuring consistent performance across variable stitch angles.
- DBxK5 SAN™ 1 – tailored for embroidery on tough substrates, enabling clean, reliable embroidery results.
Spinning: Longer Service Life, Lower Maintenance
For the spinning industry, Groz-Beckert will showcase a new maintenance-free cylinder wire designed for extended operational life. Additional developments include upgraded revolving tops optimized for fine yarns and stationary flats featuring a redesigned aluminium profile for greater precision, durability, and reliability throughout the spinning process.
