Strategic DiVisions Set to Transform Global Collaboration

Groupe MRP, under Sumit Govind Sharma, targets 78 countries with six specialised DiVisions, fostering trade, skills, and sustainable growth across Africa and the Arab world.

Groupe MRP is accelerating its global operations by fostering strategic partnerships with countries in Africa and the Arab world. Under the leadership of Sumit Govind Sharma and the newly structured leadership team, the company aims to serve 78 countries—54 African and 24 Arab—through six specialised business units, known as DiVisions.

Strategic Leadership and Vision
Guided by Groupe MRP’s Global MD and President of the Indo-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sumit Govind Sharma, the company has engaged industry experts to lead each DiVision. This approach ensures sector-specific expertise and precise execution. Sharma stated, “This initiative is about more than just expanding the business; it's about building lasting bridges between countries that will lead to shared prosperity. We're making a platform that can really change how India works with Africa and the Arab countries by bringing together experts from different fields around a single vision.”

The Six DiVisions Driving Growth

  1. Pharmaceutical & Healthcare: India’s robust pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sector offers immense value to Africa and Arab countries. This DiVision will be led by Rajesh Sharma, bringing over 33 years of industry experience.
  2. Skill Development: Focused on scalable training programs, this DiVision aims to bridge skill gaps and empower women and youth across sectors. Savita John, with 25+ years in education and workforce development, will lead these initiatives.
  3. Agriculture: With a focus on sustainable agricultural innovations, this DiVision will be co-led by Dr. Nupur N. Nagwekar, PhD in Biotechnology, and Mr. Kshitij Nagvekar, an AgTech entrepreneur. Their combined expertise spans scientific research, innovation, and practical farming solutions such as hydroponics and digital farming tools.
  4. Tourism: Led by Kewal Kotian, an industry veteran with 25 years of experience, this DiVision aims to boost local economies, create jobs, and enhance cultural visibility.
  5. Hospitality: Under the leadership of Sumit Govind Sharma, this unit seeks to promote Indian regional cuisines while providing authentic hospitality experiences through ventures like Eve, Que Sera Sera, and TAT.
  6. Insurance / Reinsurance: Focused on introducing innovative insurance and risk management solutions, this DiVision aims to strengthen domestic and international operations. Strategic partnerships across Africa and the Arab region are expected, with a major announcement soon.
