GREW Solar Partners with Caelux for 4 GW Hybrid-Tandem Solar Modules

Five-year agreement will combine Caelux’s perovskite Energy Producing Glass with GREW Solar’s N-Type TOPCon technology
GREW Solar and US-based Caelux Corporation have announced a five-year commercialisation partnership covering 4 GW of Caelux’s perovskite Energy Producing Glass for the production of Hybrid-Tandem™ solar modules. The partnership is aimed at developing high-power modules by combining Caelux’s perovskite technology with GREW Solar’s N-Type TOPCon platform.
4 GW Agreement Covers Hybrid-Tandem Module Production
GREW Solar and Caelux Corporation announced the 4 GW partnership to produce advanced Hybrid-Tandem™ solar modules using Caelux’s Energy Producing Glass.
Under the agreement, GREW Solar will integrate Caelux’s glass with its N-Type TOPCon technology, including its large-format G12R series, to manufacture next-generation Hybrid-Tandem™ modules.
According to the companies, the technology enables modules with two energy-producing layers and efficiencies of 29%+.
The agreement also expands Caelux’s contracted volume with solar module manufacturers globally to 19 GW for its perovskite-based technology.
GREW Solar to Integrate Technology Into Existing Manufacturing Platform
Mr. Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director, GREW Solar, said:
“We built GREW on the same philosophy that has guided the Chiripal Group for more than five decades - be at the forefront when it comes to technology innovation. Partnering with Caelux enables us to provide next-generation, high-power modules to the market using our existing gigawatt-scale manufacturing platform, which is already operating at scale.”
GREW Solar has expanded from a single 1.2 GW line in 2023 to a multi-gigawatt, multi-state production footprint. The company currently has 11 GW of module and 8 GW of cell manufacturing capacity, with 8 GW wafer and ingot lines under construction.
The agreement with Caelux will allow GREW Solar to integrate Hybrid-Tandem module production through Caelux’s plug-and-play approach.
Caelux Highlights Integration With Existing Manufacturing Assets
Scott Graybeal, CEO of Caelux, said:
“The investment that GREW Solar has made into building its state-of-the art solar, fully-integrated manufacturing ecosystem is evident, and we are proud to partner with a company committed to innovation. The Caelux approach of partnering with module manufacturers means that companies, like GREW Solar, can significantly extend the useful life of their CAPEX-heavy manufacturing assets while offering the market next-generation modules.”
The companies are targeting 2028 for commercial production of advanced perovskite-plus-silicon modules that meet Approved List of Module Manufacturers (ALMM) eligibility requirements.
The partnership is also intended to support the country’s “Make in India” vision and meet its Production Linked Incentive (PLI) requirements.
GREW Solar is currently expanding its manufacturing footprint across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The expansion has created thousands of jobs, with additional employment projected as a result of the partnership.
GREW Solar Plans Integration of Caelux Energy Producing Glass
Hardip Singh, Chief Operating Officer, GREW Solar, said:
“We built our platform stage by stage, from cells and modules, and followed by wafers and ingots, so that we would be ideally positioned for the next leap in solar technology. Caelux's Energy Producing Glass is that significant leap and we eager to be able to easily integrate it into our existing manufacturing infrastructure.”
Vish Iyer, Managing Director, India & West Asia at Caelux, said:
“India’s solar industry is moving beyond scale to technology and integration. GREW Solar has built one of the country’s most integrated N-Type TOPCon manufacturing platforms, and that makes them an ideal partner for Caelux. Together, we are combining market leadership and technology leadership to move the India solar market forward.”
