Green Story Partners with Frontier to Integrate Facility-Level Environmental Data into Fashion Material Sourcing

Integration brings supplier and manufacturing facility sustainability data into Frontier’s material digitisation and management workflows
Green Story has partnered with Frontier, an AI-powered material digitisation and management platform used across the fashion and textile industry. The partnership integrates Green Story’s environmental assessments into Frontier’s platform, providing brands and suppliers with facility-specific sustainability data during the material sourcing and evaluation process.
Environmental Data Based on Supplier-Level Information
Green Story’s environmental assessments are based on primary information collected directly from suppliers and manufacturing facilities across 34 countries. The company said the data reflects how and where products were made and is supported by a recognised textile lifecycle assessment system.
Its AI-driven, expert-led methodology processes, validates and contextualises the information at scale. Through the Frontier integration, this environmental data will be made available within material sourcing workflows.
“Most sustainability data in fashion arrives too late to shape a material decision,” said Akhil Sivanandan, Co-Founder and CEO of Green Story. “Our work has always been about building environmental intelligence that reflects reality, primary data from facilities, assessed by experts who understand textile manufacturing from the inside. This partnership with Frontier puts that intelligence exactly where it belongs: in the room where materials are being chosen.”
Sustainability Data Added to Material Evaluation
Green Story’s environmental information will be accessible within Frontier’s existing workflows for sourcing, digitising and evaluating materials.
The integration allows brands to consider environmental performance alongside other material-selection factors, including technical specifications, pricing and availability.
“Frontier exists to scale physical materials into intelligent data which brands can actually use. Nowadays fabric decisions happen fast, however, environmental data has always played catch-up. By bringing Green Story’s facility-level intelligence directly into Frontier, we’re closing that gap. Brands and suppliers can now see the full picture of a material the moment they’re evaluating it, not after the decision is already made,” said Jing L. Chao, CEO, Frontier.cool.
Partnership Addresses Regulatory Data Requirements
The collaboration comes as regulatory and market requirements around product-level environmental transparency increase across the fashion value chain.
The EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), Digital Product Passport requirements, and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) are establishing new expectations for verifiable, data-backed sustainability disclosure.
According to the companies, access to environmental data at the material selection stage can provide brands and suppliers with a basis for addressing these evolving transparency and reporting requirements.
