Government Might Relax Eligibility Norms For Textile PLI

Published on

According to sources, the government is considering lowering the eligibility requirements for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles in order to increase the number of participants who are eligible for benefits and ensure that the funds allocated for encouraging manufacturing in the nation are used to their fullest potential. According to a source following the situation, "The mandatory requirement for applicants to form a new company to qualify for benefits may be re-considered, both for the existing PLI scheme for textiles and the proposed second edition under discussion, as it has proven to be an irritant for some investors."
