The Good Fashion Fund (GFF), managed by FOUNT, has invested USD 1.75 million in Sharadha Terry Products Pvt. Ltd. (STPPL), a leading Indian home textiles manufacturer renowned for its MicroCotton® brand. The funding will support the establishment of a new bath and area rugs manufacturing unit, Sri Gugan Mills, in Mettupalayam, Tamil Nadu.

This marks the final investment of the GFF’s current fund, with plans for a second fund (GFF 2.0) already underway. The investment will help STPPL install advanced tufting machinery and enable the production of dope-dyed polyester and cotton bath rugs, along with developing recycled fiber-based products.

Sustainability at the Core
The new facility will significantly reduce water usage and eliminate hazardous chemicals, thanks to a dedicated Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) capable of recovering up to 98% of wastewater. STPPL aims to become one of India’s few fully integrated and sustainable rug manufacturers with a capacity exceeding 4 million sq. meters annually. The plant will also generate over 200 local jobs, benefiting both men and women from nearby communities.

Expanding a Legacy of Innovation
Leveraging India’s strong global position in home textiles, STPPL is expanding its portfolio by entering the rug segment. The new ‘Sharadha Rugs’ line was launched at Heimtextil 2025 in Frankfurt, positioning STPPL as a one-stop shop for sustainable bed and bath products. The company powers its operations using 100% renewable energy from its 5.1 MW wind and 10.1 MW solar plants.

Leadership Perspectives
Vikram Krishna, Managing Director of STPPL, said, “Partnering with the Good Fashion Fund enables us to deliver eco-conscious innovations in the rug segment, while continuing to empower our communities and commit to responsible growth.”

Bob Assenberg, Fund Director of GFF, added, “STPPL represents the deep sustainability values that GFF supports. As our final investment, this collaboration sets the stage for sustainable practices in deeper tiers of the textile value chain.”
