Global Nonwovens Alliance Launches E-Learning Programme for Industry Training and Professional Development

New online learning initiative offers scalable onboarding and upskilling across the global nonwovens value chain

The Global Nonwovens Alliance (GNA), founded by INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, and EDANA, has announced the launch of a new global e-learning initiative intended to support companies in building essential nonwovens knowledge across their organisations.

The first programme available under this initiative is the Fundamental Nonwovens series of online courses. Designed to provide flexible learning from any location, the programme supports onboarding, upskilling and professional development for employees across the nonwovens value chain.

Developed through the combined expertise of EDANA and INDA, the course series offers foundational knowledge for professionals entering the industry, transitioning into new roles, or supporting nonwovens businesses through commercial, operational, regulatory, technical or corporate functions.

“E-learning is one of the clearest examples of how the Global Nonwovens Alliance can deliver value to the industry,” said Murat Dogru, CEO, Global Nonwovens Alliance. “By bringing together the knowledge and reach of INDA and EDANA, we are creating a consistent learning experience that helps professionals around the world build a stronger understanding of nonwovens and contribute more confidently from day one.”

Through interactive online modules, participants are introduced to key aspects of the nonwovens industry, including the global market landscape, raw materials, web formation, web bonding and related manufacturing processes. The curriculum is scheduled to expand in Summer 2026 with the addition of finishing treatments.

The courses are structured to simplify complex technical subjects while maintaining industry relevance. Participants gain practical knowledge of nonwoven material production, the impact of different manufacturing processes on product performance, and applications across sectors including hygiene, wipes, filtration, medical, automotive and construction.

For employers, the programme provides a scalable learning solution that can be implemented across departments, onboarding programmes and international teams. By establishing a shared understanding of core nonwovens concepts and terminology, the initiative aims to reduce early-stage knowledge gaps, strengthen cross-functional communication and support faster employee productivity.

The launch also aligns with GNA's broader objective of combining the capabilities of EDANA and INDA to advance the global nonwovens industry while preserving each organisation's regional expertise and member focus. The alliance was established to promote greater collaboration, expanded education, stronger industry insights and a more unified global industry voice.

“INDA and EDANA each bring decades of trusted industry knowledge, educational experience, and member engagement,” said Hadrien Tournier, Global Director of Professional Development, Global Nonwovens Alliance. “Together, through GNA, we are making high-quality learning more accessible to companies and professionals across the global value chain.”

The Fundamental Nonwovens e-learning courses are now available through the websites of both EDANA and INDA.
