Global Laboratory Conference The Digital Future of Textile Testing from Manual Lab to Intelligent Lab

The technical seminar, hosted by ChiuVention Sole Agent Md. Shariful Islam, CEO of SN Apparels, brought together more than 100 testing professionals, quality control specialists, and industry representatives from leading textile factories and testing organizations across Bangladesh.

The event focused on the growing importance of advanced testing technologies in improving textile quality, production efficiency, and compliance with international standards. Testing Technologies Support the Bangladesh Industry’s Future Growth

Speaking at the event, Md. Shariful Islam highlighted the importance of adopting modern testing technologies to support the industry’s future growth. “Bangladesh has built a strong position in the global textile and apparel industry, but maintaining that position requires continuous improvement in quality, technology, and testing capabilities. Our objective is to bring advanced and reliable testing solutions closer to the manufacturers so that they can improve accuracy, reduce testing time, and meet the evolving requirements of international buyers.”

He added that automation is becoming increasingly important as textile manufacturers face growing pressure to improve productivity while maintaining consistent quality. “Testing should not be viewed simply as the final checkpoint of production. It is an important part of the entire quality management system. With smart and automated equipment, manufacturers can generate more reliable data, minimize human error, and make faster decisions.”

Technical insights from ChiuVention

Forrest Chiu, President of ChiuVention, shared technical insights and presented the company’s latest testing technologies, then joined an interactive question-and-answer session with industry professionals.

Live demonstration of advanced testing machines

A live demonstration was a major highlight of the seminar. Participants observed the machines in operation and gained practical insights into their precision, speed, and repeatability. ChiuVention showcased several automated testing solutions designed to address key textile performance and quality requirements.

The SmartShrink Shrinkage Rate Tester measures fabric shrinkage and twist rates after washing, steaming, and dry-cleaning processes within 5 seconds. The system helps manufacturers evaluate dimensional stability and maintain consistency of finished products.

The Smartindale Martindale Abrasion & Pilling Tester evaluates fabric resistance to abrasion and pilling. These properties are critical for assessing the durability and appearance retention of textile products during use & most interestingly, its Lissajous

The AirFicient Air Permeability Tester measures airflow through fabrics, providing important information about fabric performance and suitability for different end-use applications.

Meanwhile, the HydroBurst Bursting Strength Tester evaluates the strength of textile materials under pressure, helping manufacturers assess their durability and performance.

According to ChiuVention, these automated solutions are designed to increase testing productivity, reduce human error, and deliver more consistent results while supporting international testing standards such as ISO, ASTM, and AATCC.

Supporting Bangladesh’s Quality Ambitions

For Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector, reliable laboratory testing has become increasingly important as international buyers demand greater consistency, durability, safety and regulatory compliance. Automated testing technologies can help manufacturers reduce dependence on manual processes, improve repeatability and accelerate testing cycles. Md. By adopting smart testing systems, our factories can improve efficiency, strengthen quality assurance and build greater confidence among global buyers.”
