Company to preview Mesh-in-Mesh technology and present filter media, process belts and industrial mesh components at Hall 8, Stand B19
GKD – Gebr. Kufferath AG has announced its participation in FILTECH Cologne 2026, where it will exhibit technical metal mesh, filter media, process belts and engineered mesh components designed for industrial applications requiring process reliability, reproducible quality and integration into existing systems.
The company will be located at Hall 8, Stand B19 during the exhibition, scheduled from 30 June to 2 July 2026.
Mesh-in-Mesh Technology Preview
Ahead of its official product launch, GKD will present an exclusive preview of its new Mesh-in-Mesh technology. Developed using the company's experience in water electrolysis, the technology combines coarse and fine mesh structures while aligning material, geometry, permeability, surface characteristics and further processing into a single mesh design.
According to GKD, initial scientific testing indicates that Mesh-in-Mesh has the potential to improve the energy efficiency of industrial electrolyzers.

Focus on Series-Produced Mesh Components
The company will also demonstrate its capabilities in transforming technical mesh into series-produced industrial components. Visitors will be able to view a production video showcasing GKD's Automotive Room concept, where customer requirements are converted into prototypes and manufactured under near-series industrial conditions.
The Automotive Rooms combine defined mesh properties, stable geometries and established processing methods to support automated manufacturing with reproducible quality.
Applications Across Multiple Industries
Among the components displayed will be a spark arrestor used as a flame arrester in battery modules. GKD stated that component production incorporates expertise in mesh selection, sealing, joining, component geometry, differential pressure and verification.
The company also develops mesh-based components for industries including chemicals, medical technology, aerospace and technical protection applications by combining application-specific requirements with series-production processes.
“For many customers, the mesh alone is not the decisive factor, but rather the question of how it can be turned into a reliably manufacturable component,” says Markus Knefel, Product Developer at GKD. “It is precisely at this interface between mesh, component design, and manufacturing process that our expertise and experience pay off.”
VACUBELT for Continuous Filtration
GKD will also highlight its VACUBELT filter belt solution for horizontal vacuum belt filters. The company said the filter belts are designed for continuous filtration and dewatering processes, where belt design influences process stability, dewatering performance and filtrate clarity.
Typical applications include the dewatering of phosphogypsum, FGD gypsum, potash, salt, soda and concentrates from ore processing operations.
According to GKD, VACUBELT filter belts are individually designed to match application requirements and suspension characteristics.
“With our VACUBELT filter belts, the application determines the choice of mesh and the correct belt design,” says Philipp Wolff, Sales and Applications Manager at GKD. “Our task is to translate the requirements of diverse dewatering processes into robust, efficient, and high-performance belt solutions.”
