Tiruppur Knitwear Exports Rise After A Long Time

Knitwear exports showed a little increase in the first month of this year after falling for five straight months, which has given Tiruppur’s textile makers cause for celebration.

Knitwear exports from Tiruppur increased in value by 1.5% to $413 million from $407 million in January 2023. Overall, India’s exports of knitwear increased by 0.9% this month to $751 million from $744 million in January 2022.

Knitwear exports from Tiruppur totaled $3.713 billion for the most recent 10-month period, up 3.4% from $3.591 billion in the same time last year. According to data supplied by, the total value of knitwear exports from India increased by 0.9% to $6.714 billion ($6.654 billion). The movement for cotton yarn, which had been sluggish for six months, has suddenly picked up steam.
