FTP Opens Doors For Some Second-Hand Goods Imports

With some limitations, India's new Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) has taken a new stance on the import of used goods, allowing for the repair of used items before re-exporting them and paving the way for the entry of used electronics and IT products. A new category of unrestricted imports for items brought into the country for the purpose of repair, refurbishment, reconditioning, or re-engineering with the goal to re-export is described in the import policy for used products in the FTP 2023.
