FOGWA demands that Surat become home to a textile commissioner office.

Federation of Gujarat Weavers Welfare Association(FOGWA) has proposed to start the office of textile commissioner in Surat. In a memorandom to union textile minister Piyush Goyal, the organization has said that Surat is a textile hub and a large scale textile industry has developed here. The entire chain from weaving to dyeing units and textile market is available here. A mega textile park will be developed at Vasi-Borsi near Surat in the coming days. At present, the industrialists of Surat have to go to Mumbai or Ahmedabad for various textile related works. If there is an office of textile commissioner in Surat, it will be easier for the industrialists and time and energy will be saved.
