Filo66 Closes in Milan with Strong Visitor Turnout and International Buyer Participation

66th edition of the International Yarns and Fibres Exhibition highlights collections, supply-chain integration and internationalisation efforts

The 66th edition of Filo, the International Yarns and Fibres Exhibition, concluded in Milan with a strong visitor turnout and collections presented by exhibitors across style, innovation and research. The event again shared dates and exhibition spaces with Lineapelle, bringing two fashion-related supply chains together for international markets.

Filo66 Records Strong Visitor Turnout in Milan

Filo66 concluded with what organisers described as positive results, with a consistently high number of visitors attending the exhibition.

The event featured yarn and fibre collections from exhibitors, with the showcase focused on product development, innovation and research.

Filo once again took place alongside Lineapelle, which presents leathers, accessories, components, synthetics, fabrics and designs for footwear, leather goods, apparel and home furnishings.

The shared dates and exhibition spaces brought the two supply chains connected to the fashion industry together in an integrated presentation to international markets.

Internationalisation Remains a Focus

Filo continued its internationalisation programme, aimed at supporting companies, particularly SMEs, in accessing foreign markets.

The exhibition has been increasing the participation of foreign exhibitors and the number of international buyers through its collaboration with ITA – the Agency for the Promotion and the Internationalization of Italian Enterprises abroad – and the Piedmont Region.

ITA, which is celebrating its centenary this year, brought a delegation of 20 buyers from France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Turkey and India to Filo.

The collaboration between Filo and the Piedmont Region is being developed through the Piedmont Region’s Integrated ‘Textile’ Supply Chain Project, funded by the 2021–2027 ERDF Operational Programme and implemented through Ceipiemonte, the agency dedicated to internationalisation and investment attraction to Piedmont.

The partnership also led to the organisation of ‘Buyers’ Days’, including a significant contingent from the United Kingdom, a country with a long textile tradition and a market of interest to Italian companies.

Sustainability and Supply-Chain Focus

Filo has also continued its sustainability-related collaboration with C.L.A.S.S., including sponsorship of the InsideOut by C.L.A.S.S. project.

The project focuses on bringing greater visibility to the values, choices and supply-chain work behind the development of a new generation’s wardrobe, with an emphasis on awareness, responsibility and integrated quality.

Paolo Monfermoso Highlights Filo66 Results

At the close of the 66th edition, Paolo Monfermoso, Head of Filo, said:

“The 66 th edition of Filo is closing positively. Buyers’s flow has been high and of a high calibre, whilst the number of exhibitors remained in line with February’s edition. On the eve of the event, this outcome wasn’t taken for granted, due to the current geopolitical crisis and the resulting economic downturn. The positive results of Filo66 naturally reflect the high quality and innovative capacity of exhibitors, as well as a supply chain, which remains strong and cohesive. We discussed the supply chain at length during the two days of Filo66, both at the Opening Ceremony and during the ‘Dialoghi di Confronto’. It is a central theme because many of the challenges facing the textile sector can only be tackled from a supply-chain perspective, especially regarding traceability and sustainability. A high-quality, strong and cohesive supply chain also enables us to tackle foreign markets more effectively: supporting companies in their internationalisation efforts is one of the Filo’s tasks, carried out in collaboration with ITA and the Piedmont Region. I am therefore particularly pleased that Matteo Masini, the Agency’s Director of Consumer Goods, wished to highlight Filo’s growth in recent years.”

Trends Area and Made in Filo Updated

Monfermoso also highlighted changes introduced for the 66th edition:

“For the 66 th edition, we have made a few minor adjustments to the Trends Area to improve collections’ showcase, putting yarns’ displays for weaving alongside those for knitwear: this gives visitors an immediate overview of companies’ product ranges. We have also enlarged the space and renovated the layout dedicated to ‘Made in Filo’, the fabric collection entirely conceived and produced by Filo, which is enjoying growing success thanks to the many textile ideas and solutions it offers. In conclusion, I would like once again to thank everyone who contributed to the success of Filo66: companies, buyers, Lineapelle and its CEO, Fulvia Bacchi, the institutions that support us, first and foremost ITA and the Piedmont Region with Ceipiemonte, the speakers of the Opening Ceremony and the ‘Dialoghi di Confronto’, and the partner companies for their invaluable contribution to carry out ‘Made in Filo’, in particular Tessitura Zanello and Ricamificio Vanoni. I look forward to seeing you all at Filo67 in February 2027.”

Filo67 Scheduled for February 2027

The 67th edition of Filo is scheduled for 23 and 24 February 2027 at Fiera Milano - Rho.
