FET Reports Strong Presence at COMPAMED 2025, Launches FET-500 Gel Spinning Technology

Fibre Extrusion Technology Ltd (FET), Leeds, UK, has successfully concluded its 2025 exhibition programme with a strong presence at COMPAMED 2025 in Düsseldorf, following shortly after its participation at ITMA ASIA in Singapore. The appearance marked FET’s second consecutive participation at COMPAMED, underscoring the company’s expanding footprint within the global medical technology supply sector.
COMPAMED, recognised as a leading international trade fair for medical technology suppliers, brings together manufacturers of high-quality components, services, and production equipment for the medical industry. FET’s growing engagement in this sector aligns closely with the event’s focus, particularly as more than half of the company’s current turnover is now generated from the rapidly expanding medical market.
At COMPAMED 2025, FET unveiled its latest innovation, the FET-500 Gel Spinning System, designed for Ultra High Molecular Weight polymers such as UHMWPE. The new system delivers significant reductions in cost, production footprint, and environmental impact, while offering exceptional process flexibility and critical consistency. The FET-500 enables manufacturers to validate concepts and secure intellectual property for medical device applications.
A key advantage of the FET-500 lies in its ability to eliminate the harsh processing chemicals traditionally associated with gel spinning technology. Through its patent-pending process technology, FET has developed a compact and environmentally responsible system that offers a more sustainable alternative to conventional industrial-scale gel spinning processes.
Looking ahead, FET will continue its global exhibition strategy in 2026, beginning with Techtextil Frankfurt in April, followed by a return to COMPAMED Düsseldorf in November, as the company strengthens its position in advanced fibre extrusion technologies for medical and technical applications.
